In keeping with that tradition, we are proud to announce that our practice now offers The Thermage™ Tissue Tightening Procedure made possible by our recently acquired ThermaCool TC™ System, a new radiofrequency-based device designed to tighten tissue and improve the appearance of skin around the eyes and on other areas of the face and neck.
The Thermage Procedure tightens tissue by delivering radiofrequency energy through the skin, heating the deep skin layers underneath while protecting the skin surface with a cooling action. The procedure is intended to cause immediate collage contraction followed by new collagen production and continued tightening over time. Patients treated in clinical studies continue to show improvement three to six months after treatment.
The Thermage Procedure requires little to no recovery time, so you can often return to normal activities soon after treatment. Best of all, there are no stitches or scalpels. Since the Thermage procedure works by tightening deeper tissue, it can complement other procedures that treat the upper layers of your skin.
We are the only office to offer Thermage treatments in Western Massachusetts and the results from our first patients are exciting. Patient selection and education are always important but we believe this technology offers the first truly non-invasive skin tightening procedure without surgery and extended recovery time from work.
